HOUSE 5
Swanbourne

About this project

The beauty of this very narrow site in a cul-de-sac street, is it’s elevation overlooking a large expanse of playing fields to the north.  The challenge was dealing with the four metre slope from front to back.

The brief was to maximise the narrow site with the main living areas opening to the north, together with the main bedroom suite on the ground level and a separate family and guest zone upstairs.  The pavilion nature of the design, with a glazed link between the front and rear, makes the the plunge pool court in the centre of the house a focal point viewed from most areas.  The finishes are tactile, robust, clean and seamless while also exuding a sense of warmth and welcoming.
