HOUSE 10
Cottesloe

About this project

After living in the small 1970’s house on this site in beachside Cottesloe for a few years, the owners elected to replace the house with a new, more robust and flexible home for their four growing children and their busy outdoor lifestyle.

The two level rectangular pavilion was designed as a series of concrete block blade walls, forming seven equal bays, oriented to maximise the northern exposure.  Polished concrete floors on the ground level flow from internal to external living areas.  Timber floors in the upper floor bedrooms provide a warm contrast to the Alabaster exposed block blade walls.

The palette of concrete, glass, fibrous cement and steel, work together with the natural texture of timber and random stonework to form a contemporary, light filled backdrop for the day to day activities of family life.
