About this project
This project, a house for a couple, is situated in North Fremantle, overlooking the Swan River.
A fundamental design intent was to create a house that maximised the spectacular 180° view over the river to the south-east while also achieving north access and adequate cross ventilation to the main living areas. An important client requirement was to maximise garden area on a relatively small lot of 538m2. The nature of the site, with the river on one side and the street on the other, made it necessary to create a "double fronted" house that addresses both street and river.
